About the Event
Join us in the IAWH Wellness Lounge, 7 PM, Friday, February 26 for The Power of Gratitude Through Meditation with Purnima Sinha.
Research reveals gratitude can have many benefits and meditation has extraordinary effects, from improving our mental health to boosting our relationships with others. Purnima will explore the mindful practice of gratitude, and ways that you can be more favorable toward yourself, and also to others. Meditation session(s) will follow.
Make a decision for your mind, body, and soul to decompress through a short lecture, meditation followed by a question and answer period. We hope that you will embrace your decision.
Purnima has practiced meditation for over 45 years and is trained in ultra-transcendental meditation (avoiding distracting thoughts and promoting a state of relaxed awareness), and Surat Shabd Yoga (a meditative practice that focuses on the concept of inner light and sound. It can help you experience the relaxation response vital to stress reduction). Additionally, Purnima has a Certification in Lifestyle Medicine and Meditation & Psychotherapy from the Harvard School of Medicine in Boston and has published in Eckhart Tolle’s newsletter, Power of Now, A New Earth that focused on emotional awareness.
Purnima has presented workshops and classes on wellness and stress management from international conferences to health systems and fitness clubs, and also works with individuals as needed to guide step-by-step awareness exercises to improve their lifestyle. She looks forward to spending time with you, answering questions, and conducting a few simple meditations on gratitude.
